A word from the shaper

I grew up on the North Shore of Oahu, shaping boards under the guidance
of Eric Arakawa and Ben Apia. Over my eighteen years of shaping, I have
designed and shaped everything from fish for two foot surf to tow-in boards
for forty foot surf. I relish shaping for every type of surfer from novices right
on up to the former World Champion, Sunny Garcia. Shaping boards for
motivated surfers is one of the great passions of my life - Gerard Smith
